Skeins for Charity: Blue Ocean Project

Every quarter we donate $1 from the sale of each and every skein of yarn we sell -- we call this our Skeins for Charity. Well this year we decided to take it one set further and make up 4 special kits, themed around the charity we are donating to! $15 from the sale of each and every one of these kits will go directly to the charity.

This kit is benefitting Ocean Blue Project. From their website:

We are an environmental non profit and founded in 2012 in Newport, Oregon by father and son, Richard and Fleet Arterbury. We invite you to join us in a mission that’s as vast, critical and inspiring as the Ocean itself.

Ocean Blue is built around one vision: that the world’s ocean, beaches and rivers will once again be pristine, self-sustaining ecosystems where wildlife and human communities can coexist and otherwise thrive.

As a grassroots environmental non profit, our Mission is to rehabilitate and conserve the world’s oceans, beaches, and rivers through beach and river cleanups, solutions to keep pollutants from entering ecosystems, and collaborative community-driven service learning projects youth education.

Since our father and son founders launched this environmental non profit mission in 2012, Ocean Blue Project removed 173,302 pounds of debris from beaches and waterways. Most noteworthy, 82,582 pounds was removed in 2019 alone.

This limited edition kit includes a skein of Ultra Merino Fingering weight yarn, “Oceans Couldn’t Keep Us Apart, But His Restraining Order Might”, a set of sea glass stitch markers custom made for us by our beloved Solstice Stitches, and a "Save the Oceans" vinyl sticker by Jordyn Allison Designs.

Please note this is a preorder! We will be taking orders from June 22-July 6th and shipping July 20th.
